Head Chef Deb

Deb Bloye is a true culinary gem in Gippsland, bringing decades of experience to the Nicho Store. With a rich background in running restaurants and cafes, including Debritz at the West Gippsland Arts Centre and the Neerim South Hotel, Deb has embraced a sea change in East Gippsland, where she enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle. As the specialist responsible for creating the store’s exquisite cakes and desserts, she is well-known for her delectable cheesecakes, lemon meringue, sponge cakes, and muffins. Her talent for crafting inspiring dishes and unique pie flavors adds to the store’s charm, making every visit a delightful experience.

Apprentice Chef Juan

Juan moved to Australia from Chile and joined the Nicho Store team in 2021. Starting as a kitchen assistant, he quickly advanced to become a mature-age apprentice under Deb's expert guidance. With her mentorship, Juan has honed his skills and now excels in running the kitchen. You’ll find him crafting a variety of savory delights, including lasagna, quiches, tarts, and vanilla slices, as well as being the friendly face behind our breakfast and lunch offerings. His passion for cooking and dedication to quality shine through in every dish he prepares.
